MobiKwik powers Mumbai’s “Kaali Peeli” with Aamchi Drive app

Commuters can book a Kaali Peeli taxi with a single click on the app and also save on every transaction with MobiKwik Supercash

 

Mumbai, June 29, 2017 – To make commuting more convenient in Mumbai, mobile wallet major Mobikwik today announced its partnership with the kaali-peeli ride hailing app, “Aamchi Drive”, as its official wallet partner. Commuters would now be able to pay using MobiKwik, swiftly and securely for their journey, using the app that was launched today.

With this, Mobikwik will help the legendary black-and-yellow cabs, also known as “kaali peeli” taxis, fight competition from the otherwise popular ride hailing apps. Around 2 lakh drivers and 5 lakh daily commuters within Mumbai will benefit from the app. The app has been launched in collaboration with the Mumbai Taxi Association and Mumbai Taximen’s Union.

The app will not just reduce the wait time for a taxi but also save commuters from the hassle of carrying cash and finding change to pay, “said Mr. Vineet Singh, Chief Business Officer at Mobikwik.

The app will be available for use in Marathi, Hindi and English languages and commuters will be able to book their Kali-Pili taxi in relatively lesser fares. MobiKwik supports this initiative by the Kaali Peeli Taxi Union and promises to help people to commute easily and pay digitally, added Singh.

Commuters will also be eligible to benefit from MobiKwik’s loyalty program, Supercash every time they book a kaali peeli taxi through the app.
