Mumbai, July 10, 2025: In an era when journalism often finds itself under scrutiny, Mr. Dilshad S. Khan has emerged as a powerful voice of truth, integrity, and courage. He is the Director and Editor of Mumbai Hulchul, as well as the National President of the Journalist Welfare Association and the Gandhi Vichar Manch (All India Minority Cell). His career is a symbol of fearless reporting, social reform, and unwavering spiritual faith.

A Purposeful and Faith-Driven Journey

With a natural sense of justice and dignity, Mr. Khan moved to Mumbai in 1996 in search of a meaningful life. He began his career as a designer and worked in that field until 2001, but his heart was drawn to a higher calling—journalism. To pursue this passion, he enrolled in a formal journalism course in Delhi, where he completed his education.

What sets Mr. Khan apart is not just his professional trajectory but also his steadfast spiritual discipline. “I never asked anyone for anything—not even knowledge. I only asked Allah, and He gave me everything I needed,” he shares humbly. Even today, he does not leave home without offering prayers and reading verses from the Quran. He believes his faith is the true source of his strength and success.

“Neither paper, nor pen, nor book taught me—
I learnt the true lessons of life from my father,”
he often says, crediting his father as the source of his values, resilience, and principles.

A Media Journey from Struggle to Success

Inspired by renowned journalists and media icons, Mr. Khan made a decisive move in 2003, vowing to give journalism two years—either he would succeed, or step away. This clarity and commitment fueled his drive. By 2005–06, he established his first media office in Khar, Mumbai, and in 2007–08, he launched Mumbai Hulchul—a publication that, to this day, dares to question power.

Under his leadership, Mumbai Hulchul has exposed corruption, amplified the voices of the marginalized, and tackled topics often ignored by mainstream media. His commitment to fairness and ethical journalism has earned him respect both in media circles and among the public.

Despite threats and pressures, he never backed down. “Whoever wants to come at me, let them. I’m not afraid. My job is to reveal the truth, and I will continue doing it,” he declares unapologetically.

From Mumbai to Dubai: A Parallel Path of Entrepreneurship

Mr. Khan’s ambitions were not limited to journalism. In 2012, alongside close friends, he started a restaurant in Dubai—initially named Al Balja, now known as Al Raga. This entrepreneurial venture thrived, adding another feather to his cap and cementing his status as a successful businessman.

Today, he balances his time between Mumbai and Dubai, managing both media responsibilities and business operations with equal dedication.

A Life of Simplicity, Purpose, and Gratitude

Despite owning luxury vehicles like Lexus, Fortuner, and Endeavour, and possessing prime real estate in Mumbai, Mr. Khan lives a life grounded in humility and service.

He says, “I’ve seen people struggle for decades and still live in rented homes. Allah gave me everything—wealth, family, and respect. I never asked any human for anything. My relationship is only with my Creator.”

His charity is discreet yet profound. “Whatever I do for the poor, I do quietly. Only Allah and my mobile phone know. That’s the true wealth I’m saving for the afterlife,” he says.

A Message for Youth and Future Journalists

Mr. Khan’s message to the youth is clear:
“Don’t overthink success or failure. Just start. Put your full trust in your Creator. If your faith is unshakable, the path will reveal itself.”

He adds:
“Nowadays, people depend on others for even the smallest needs. But I’ve never asked for even ₹20,000. I’ve always asked Allah—and He has always sent someone as a means to provide.”

A Legacy of Integrity and Impact

Today, Mr. Dilshad S. Khan is more than a journalist—he is a movement, a reformer, and a symbol of value-based leadership. With over 20 years of service to truth and justice, he has built not just a career, but a legacy that spans journalism, social welfare, entrepreneurship, and community leadership.

As a father, he beams with pride—his elder son is a lawyer, his younger son is studying in London, and his daughter is currently in school. His life is proof that with faith, honesty, and perseverance, any goal is achievable.

Empowering Communities Through Journalism

Mr. Khan envisions Mumbai Hulchul as more than just a news outlet—he wants it to be a socially engaged media platform that contributes to national development and public awareness. Under his leadership, the publication has become a trusted source, empowering communities with truthful and impactful reporting.

Recognition and Respect

Throughout his career, Mr. Khan has received numerous awards and honors for his contributions to journalism and social service. His deep commitment to public interest and social change has made him a respected and inspiring figure in the media world.

Collaboration and Community Engagement

Under Mr. Khan’s leadership, Mumbai Hulchul has collaborated with social organizations like the Florian Foundation, which works in education, healthcare, and women’s empowerment. This partnership extended to the 2024 Bombay Times Fashion Week Opening Show, where they celebrated humanity and diversity, breaking barriers of social stigma.

Contributions During Crisis: A Beacon of Courage and Compassion

Mr. Dilshad S. Khan’s dedication to humanity was most evident during the COVID-19 pandemic. When most stepped back, he stepped forward—launching a 24/7 funeral service to ensure that unclaimed bodies received proper, dignified last rites, regardless of religion, caste, or class.

He distributed food, medicine, and emotional support to hundreds of families in distress. He even accepted and arranged cremations or burials for COVID victims whose families were too afraid or unable to come forward.

Through these extraordinary efforts, Mr. Khan demonstrated that true leadership is not about status, but action—especially in times of crisis.
