Enjoy Succulent Indian Alphonso Mangoes at The Venetian Macao’s The Golden Peacock Restaurant

????????????????????????????????????(Macao, May 17, 2016) – The Venetian® Macao’s one Michelin star Indian restaurant, The Golden Peacock will launch a new “Mango Mantra” special promotion showcasing fresh imported Indian mangoes. Known as the king of mangoes in India, alphonso mangoes are the main ingredients of this limited-time a-la-carte menu, designed to celebrate this wonderful fruit coming into season. Mango lovers should not miss this promotion which is available from May 20 to June 5, 2016.

“We strive to introduce new dining experiences for our guests by coming up with new creative menus.” said Paul Justin, Senior Chef of The Golden Peacock. “This time, we have prepared a variety of refreshing dishes made with alphonso mangoes freshly imported from India. ‘Mango Mantra’ is like a story book from which guests can get to know this ‘sacred’ fruit in India by taking them on a gourmet journey over several courses. I hope this summer twist will delight diners at The Golden Peacock.”

Highlights of the special menu include Tandoori Quilon Tiger Prawn, a king prawn appetiser served with a mango cilantro relish and spicy pickled onions; Amras Ki Champ, cooked with Australian lamb chops, fresh mango, fresh cream and cashew nuts; and Mango Mango Mango, a decadent mango dessert featuring pistachios, almonds, cardamom, thick organic milk and saffron to give it an Indian twist.

Alphonso mangoes harvest between May and June each year in the western part of India, and have earned a reputation as the king of mangoes. The limited-time a-la-carte menu features 19 courses of appetizers, soup, main courses and desserts using this delicacy and is only available for dinner. The only Michelin-starred Indian restaurant in Asia, The Golden Peacock is an authentic Indian restaurant listed in the Michelin guide’s Hong Kong & Macau 2014 to 2016 editions as a one-star establishment, signifying “a very good restaurant in its category,” and “a place offering cuisine prepared to a consistently high standard.” The restaurant’s cuisine covers a comprehensive range of regional specialties – all prepared by a team of chefs from all throughout India, led by Chef Paul.
