ZohraBlack Taxi Creative Concepts, one of the leading organizers of offline exhibits and events for creative designers across the country, plans to venture out in the online market. is a leading e-tailing brand of occasion and ethnic wear across the country. The two brands are now combining forces to meet the growing demand for unique designer wear online.

Black Taxi has worked with over 300 labels from across India and continues to increase its presence in the offline events market. These labels are fresh and out-of-the-box, and hence are a novelty to shoppers who are fashion-forward and like to own one-off pieces.

Parul Gupta, a partner at BlackTaxi, talks about the increasing phenomenon of quality fashion in India and the importance of Black Taxi going online. “There are a limited number of exposures one can provide in offline sales and more often than not a good designer gets left out of the process and we are unable to accommodate one and all. The value proposition of an online platform with the Black Taxi brand name allows designers to be present 24/7 on the platform available and accessible to Indian and overseas consumers. Our proposition is simple – we are ‘Making Design Accessible’,” said Gupta.

Excited about the prospects of Black Taxi having an online store, Sanjeev Jain, Director – Zohraa, adds, “The synergies of having Black Taxi with Zohraa are enormous. We already are leading players in online Anarkali suits,online sarees, online kurtis and online jewellery. The labels and products which Black Taxi brings adds to our positioning and helps us to enhance our portfolio and product offering to existing Zohraa customers. Adding to it is the fact that we would be attracting a whole new demographic that would be interested in the design sphere and the possibilities are tremendous.”

The platform and products will go live by mid-April. The product range encompasses multiple categories likedesigner apparel online, shoes, bags, jewellery online and with the choicest products in each category. Zohraa already attracts a visitor base of more than 4 lakhs in a month which it expects to go up to a million in the next six months.

Radhika Gupta, partner at Black Taxi, concludes, “We were looking for an appropriate platform to go online with when Zohraa came into the picture and we think it is the right time to tap the affordable luxury segment with Indian designers. We concentrate on products ‘hand crafted in India‘ and wish to reach out to a worldwide audience with the products.
