New Delhi, 29 August 2018:Gone are the days when kids used to go to the playground and play all day. Today, we see children as young as two glued to gadgets. With technology replacing the 7am cricket matches for children, this is an alarming situation for parents in this digital era.
A new video by Detel is doing the rounds on Social Media. The video features Shivani Singh, Mrs. Asia Pacific Queen Exquisite International 2017. She talks about the growing dependency of children on smartphones and digital devices.
Having found a solution to this problem, she shares her experience of giving her kids a feature phone and how it has helped them stay connected whilst spending more time in the ground, carrying out physical activities.
Commenting on the same, Mr.Yogesh Bhatia, MD, Detel, says, “Technology has done a lot to make our lives easier and more efficient. Yet as a parent, you ought to be concerned about the impact that devices such as smartphones can have on your child. As compared to other digital devices, Feature phones are ideal for children who stay away from their parents as they do not leave any negative impact on their mental health”
With the same vision, Detel has been thrivingly launching feature phones since the past one year with an aim to connect the unconnected. Its phones are also equipped with SOS feature to invoke emergency calls. Once a user presses the panic/SOS button, five calls are made to emergency number 112. Following this, five SMS will be immediately sent to police authorities, and another three to five SMS will be sent to family members of the user. This ensures the safety and security of the users at all times.
This National Sports Day, Detel urges parents across nooks and corners of the country to not let their children be slaves to technology.
