New Delhi: Signify, the world leader in lighting, has won the prestigious National Energy Conservation Award 2020 for its Philips Eye Pro 9W LED Bulb at a virtual award ceremony hosted by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency in India. The awards are presented by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), part of the Ministry of Power, Government of India, to honor industries and establishments that have taken special efforts to reduce energy consumption while maintaining their production.
The company won the award in the ‘Most Energy Efficient Appliance of the Year- LED Bulb’ category for its best-selling Philips Eye Pro 9W LED Bulb that saves up to 90% energy compared to a traditional bulb and lasts up to 10 times longer. The bulb has a 50% wider light spread compared to other LED bulbs and features the company’s patented Interlaced Optics technology to enhance eye comfort. The bulb exceeds the mandated industry standards such as ROHS compliance, fire-retardant material and high voltage and surge protection.

The National Energy Conservation Awards were given away for the first time on December 14, 1991, which was declared as the `National Energy Conservation Day’. The program is based on the four pillars of India’s energy future- access, efficiency, sustainability and security.
