Mumbai, February 8, 2026: In a major crackdown on illegal sex trade activities, the Govandi Police, under DCP Zone 6, busted a sex trafficking racket operating from Lemon Spa in Govandi, Mumbai. The action was carried out within the jurisdiction of Govandi Police Station, leading to the registration of FIR No. 0047/2026.
The raid was conducted under the supervision of Joint Commissioner (Crime Branch) Lakmee Gautam and executed by the Social Service Branch, led by Police Inspector Kadam, along with her team. The police team successfully raided the spa premises and caught the accused red-handed while promoting and soliciting customers for immoral activities.
The case has been registered under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956, which deal with keeping a brothel, living on the earnings of prostitution, and procuring persons for prostitution.
Details of the Incident
According to police records, the offence occurred on February 6, 2026, at a flat located near Diamond Garden, Chembur (PIN 400071), approximately 1.5 km west of Govandi Police Station. Information regarding the offence was received at 11:00 pm, following which the FIR was officially recorded at 12:13 am on February 7, 2026.

Seizure of Cash and Mobile Phones
During the raid, police seized property worth approximately 46,500, including:

Cash amounting to 16,500, allegedly earned through illegal activities
The seized items have been documented as case property and will be examined further as part of the investigation.
Investigation Ongoing
The complaint in the case was filed in written form by an Indian national residing in Panvel, Raigad district. Police officials stated that further investigation is underway to identify additional persons involved and to determine whether similar activities were being conducted at other locations.
