Ricky has been racing for just 3 years and in that short space of time he has quickly established himself as a champion driver. Ricky started his professional racing career in 2013 with the JK tyre National championship and was awarded the best new comer of the year in the junior max category. He continued his pursuit for excellence in 2014 in the same category and won the national championship amongst some fierce competition .

In 2015 he moved on to the senior max category which is the most competitive category in Rotax. His focus was on two championships during 2015.

Ricky won the last two rounds of the senior max category in the Asia cup and finished the overall championship in 4th position and became the first ever Indian to break into the top 5 in Asia.

He continued his success with excellent driving in the Indian championship and became the national champion in his first year of the senior category. On the way to achieving this he also became the first racer to capture 5 out of 5 pole positions in 5 rounds of the national championship. He also won the maximum wins award by winning 4 out of 5 championship rounds.

Ricky’s plans for 2016 include the coveted Florida Winter series during early part of the year followed by the highly competitive European championship and Asia Cup . During the later part of 2016 he intends to test single seater formula cars which will pave the way for his ultimate goal to drive in formula 1 or Indycar in the years to come.

But for now, his focus is on the Rotax Grand finals in Portugal. He is training hard and is confidence of finishing in a good position. The way he has been creating records in the last two years , we may well see the first world champion and Indian INDYCAR driver coming out of India.
