JD 2nd PosterFilms that are heavy only in star value do not do well on box office if they are low on content. Today, content is king and ‘JD’ will create waves on the strength of its content. These views were expressed by former MP Amar Singh at a glittering function on music launch of the film ‘JD’ here at the carnival Theatre.

Amar Singh, a big name in Indian politics, has played a major role in the film ‘JD’ produced and directed by Shailendra Pandey, a noted photo journalist. The film centres around the world of media and journalism and its trailer and music are making waves. Amar Singh is so confident of the success of ‘JD’ that he predicted: “The popcorn collection value of JD will be more that the Ram Gopal Verma film Sarkar that starred Amitabh Bachchan.”

The event was attended by the film’s cast including Vedita Pratap Singh, Aman Verma and Lalit Bist. The songs have been composed by Ganesh Pandey and Jaan Nissar Lone and sung by Mamata Sharma, Raja Hassan, Altamash Faridi,  Abid Jamal and Rani Hazarika.

Appreciating the effort of Shailendra Pandey, Amar Singh said all those viewers who preferred strong content must watch this film and every journalist can connect himself with the movie. Amar Singh plays the character of a politician in the movie. He said:  “So many films are released every Friday but they do not do well at the box office because of poor content and have only star face value. But now the audience is smart and is looking for strong content. I congratulate Shailendra Pandey who approached me for this movie and I was impressed with the content.

On the occasion, singers belted out several hit tracks of the film including the catchy fun number ‘Naya Safar’, and the romantic love ballads ‘Saavan’ and ‘Mit Gaya’ that have been hailed as the new love anthems of Bollywood and the most beautiful item song ‘Balamaa’.

The film is based on the life and hardships faced by journalists. It is an outright entertainer and heavy on concept. It is being released on September 22 across theatres in India.
