Iran Tourism organized a spectacular roadshow on 10th September 2024 at St. Regis Hotel, Lower Parel, to highlight the majestic beauty of Iran
The event was graced by officials from the Iranian Consulate in Mumbai, who welcomed all attendees with warm smiles. The gathering included representatives from various Indian travel agencies, along with 12 leading tour operators from Iran, who came specifically to showcase their travel offerings for the Indian visitors.
The event began with the playing of the national anthems of both India and Iran, symbolizing the long-standing bilateral trade and cultural ties between the two nations.
Recognizing the vast potential of Indian travellers, Iran now offers visa-free arrival and departure for Indian tourists interested in exploring the country’s rich historical and cultural heritage.
A highlight of the roadshow was a series of captivating videos showcasing the many beautiful and historical places Iran has to offer.
Special guest Bollywood actor Akbar Khan also attended the event, warmly welcoming the distinguished guests and sharing his deep love for Iran. “Iran is one of the most beautiful countries on Earth,” he said, adding, “The land is ancient, the culture vibrant, and the landscape converges in extraordinary ways.”
He spoke passionately about why Iran feels like a second home to him, due to his affection for the country’s beauty and warmth.
What makes Iran a must-see destination for Indian travellers, he explained, is the deep cultural and historical ties shared by both nations. By traveling to Iran, Indian visitors will discover the birthplace of Iranian architecture, which influenced masterpieces like the Taj Mahal. They will also experience the charm of Persian literature and language, which was once widely spoken in India. Many other similarities and connections await those who journey to Iran.
Once you explore Iran and its customs, you will discover that it is one of the most rewarding places on the planet. Iran is a friendly and hospitable country, where everything—from the people to the incredible architecture, bustling cities to mystical deserts—may pleasantly surprise you.

Indian tourists can now benefit from Iran’s newly legislated visa waiver program, which allows them to travel to Iran on a moment’s notice. The program permits a stay of up to 14 days without the need to obtain a visa. Moreover, no stamps will be placed on passports, either upon arrival or departure, or at any point during the trip.
Tehran, the capital city of Iran, is the country’s largest and most populated metropolis.
Other major cities worth exploring during a visit include Isfahan, Shiraz, Tabriz, and Mashhad.
The event was attended by several notable figures, including Aliasghar Shalbafian, Deputy of Tourism at the Ministry of Culture, Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, the Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mumbai, and Rahul Narwekar, Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Government of Maharashtra.
Similar roadshows were also held in Hyderabad and Delhi.
