MapR Reports Record Bookings in Q22015

MapR Technologies, Inc., provider of the top-ranked distribution for Apache™ Hadoop®, today announced it has achieved more than 100% growth in bookings and billings during Q2 2015 compared to the same quarter in the prior year.  MapR continues to extend its technology lead, processing big and fast data on a single platform and enabling new real-time applications for enterprise deployments.

MapR continues to lead in key vertical industries with 8 of its top 10* verticals containing multiple customers each exceeding $1M in cumulative bookings.

By enabling Hadoop to serve business-critical needs for Big Data applications across the broadest set of Hadoop applications from batch analytics to interactive querying and real-time streaming, MapR has experienced significant growth.  During the most recent quarter of MapR market success, customers are deploying larger Hadoop clusters for real-time, big and fast data deployments.

In addition, MapR continues to make significant contributions to the Hadoop open source community with their lease of Apache Drill 1.0 for general availability, the industry’s first schema-free SQL engine for big data.  Drill uniquely delivers self-service SQL analytics without requiring pre-defined schema definitions, dramatically reducing the time required for business analysts to explore and understand data.

To address the need for Hadoop education globally, MapR launched free Hadoop On-Demand Training¬¬ in Q1 and more than 30,000 developers, analysts and administrators have enrolled for training in less than 6 months. MapR also collaborated with Google in Q2 to offer$500 of credit to spend on Google Cloud Platform services for each registrant of its Hadoop On-Demand Training program.

MapR also received an APACCisco® Partner Summit Global award, recognized as Solution Innovation Partner of the Year, in Q2. Cisco Partner Summit Global awards reflect the top-performing partners within specific technology markets.

In May 2015 MapR relocated its corporate headquarters into a90,000 square foot facility in the heart of the Silicon Valley along the primeHighway 237 corridor to accommodate its rapid growth.  The new corporate address for MapR is 350 Holger Way, San Jose, CA.
