India Nuclear Energy 2015 kickstarts at Nehru Centre

India Nuclear Energy 2015, the two day (15th – 16th October 2015) nuclear show hosted by UBM India, commenced today at Nehru Centre. India Nuclear Energy 2015, India’s Premier and only largest civil Nuclear Energy event, is identified as an integral part of the power industry in India by the associations and industry at large.

The grand inauguration of India Nuclear Energy 2015 was represented by Chief guest Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State, Atomic Energy, Prime Minister’s Office, Government of India and Government and Industry dignitaries like Dr. R K Sinha, Chairman, Atomic Energy Commissions, Mr. S.K. Malhotra, Head-Public Awareness Division, Department of Atomic Energy, Ms. Natalia Kudryashova, First Secretary (Political), Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of India, Mr. Yves Perrin, Consul General, Government of France, Mr. Stefano Monti, Section Head, Nuclear Power Technology Development | Division of Nuclear Power | Department of Nuclear Energy International Atomic Energy Agency, Mr. Suresh Gangotra, Outstanding Scientist & Head, Safeguards, Safety and Security Division, Department of Atomic Energy.

Today, over 70 exhibitors including top notch companies like KSB PUMPS LTD, KIRLOSKAR BROTHERS LTD, HAWA VALVES (INDIA) PVT. LTD., L&T SPECIAL STEELS AND HEAVY FORGINGS PVT. LTD., AREVA, NUVIA INDIA PVT. LTD. showcased latest offerings and technologies including innovations, system optimizations, maintenance, and condition monitoring equipment from industry suppliers for the civil nuclear industry. The summit brought together senior nuclear professionals from DAE, NPCIL, IAEA and other private companies from the civil nuclear space. The event was marked by a summit based on the theme of ‘Nuclear Power & The Make In India Concept – A Unified Approach’, setting the stage for Policy ‘Think-Tanks’ to further chart India’s role as a Growing Civil Nuclear Power. Additional key highlight of India Nuclear Energy 2015 would include a seminar based on the collaboration between Canada & India on 16th October 2015. The first day of the 7th edition of India Nuclear Energy 2015, proved that Nuclear Energy is the need of the hour, with exhibitors from Canada, Russia and France in addition to India.

Mr. Yogesh Mudras, Acting Managing Director, UBM India said, Over the last decade, there has been increased recognition in terms of energy security and energy production that civil nuclear power could play. The disastrous effect on climate by the use of fossil fuels, their exhaustible nature and the absence of any other alternative that could satisfy the fast growing energy needs of the world striving to achieve economic growth have pushed the policy of use of nuclear energy. India too has taken a similar decision.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Minister of State, Atomic Energy, Prime Minister’s Office, Government of India reiterated the fact that India has not only elevated to a great extent in Nuclear energy but also managed to live up to the commitment of discovery in peaceful applications of Nuclear Energy. India has taken a lead over other nations in Nuclear Energy programmes.
