Gen Z know their history, reveals Brainly survey on Rabindranath Tagore

Mumbai, 14th June 2022: Brainly, India’s number 1 doubt-solving platform conducted a nationwide online survey of students to mark the birth month of Rabindranath Tagore, an iconic figure in the Indian cultural renaissance. The survey sought to gauge how much students today know about the revered polymath, poet, philosopher, musician, writer, and educationist.
According to the findings, 55.9% of all students polled knew Tagore was born in Kolkata, and 66.7% of students from Kolkata responded correctly to the same question. 43.9% of students from Kolkata knew May 7th was the great poet’s date of birth and 38.7% of all students responded correctly to his date of birth.
Rabindranath Tagore became the first Asian to win the Nobel Prize in 1913, 41% of respondents from Kolkata, and 37.6% of all students answered correctly. Gurudev won the Nobel Prize for his collection of poems, Gitanjali. to the question of which book by him is part of the UNESCO Collection of Representative Works, 50.2% of all students and 55.25% of students from Kolkata polled responded correctly. 54.5% of students from Kolkata and 51.6% of all students knew Tagore won the Nobel Prize for Literature. 1n 1921, Rabindranath Tagore established the Viswabharati University, and 42.1% of students from Kolkata and 31.3% of all students answered correctly.
Among scores of songs composed by Tagore, two – Jana Gana Mana and Amar Shonar Bangla – are the national anthems of India and Bangladesh. 46% of all students answered correctly.
