Thane: The main objective of the cluster redevelopment at Siddheshwar Nagar and Ramabai Nagar in Thane West is to elevate the standard of living for families who have called this area home for generations. Through this project, the focus will be on providing residents with safe, well-planned, and high-quality homes, alongside modern amenities, improved infrastructure, and effective execution.
Considering the growing population and housing demand in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), the Maharashtra government has set a target to create 3 million (30 lakh) homes in the MMR over the next 15 years, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony (bhoomi pujan) of the Siddheshwar Lake cluster project, Shinde directed developers to complete the project within three years and hand over the keys to the citizens. Around 6,000 citizens live in the Siddheshwar Lake area, and the redevelopment, which had been pending for many years, has now gained momentum. The Sugee Group will be executing this project.
Underlining that the primary goal of cluster redevelopment is to raise the standard of living for citizens, Shinde emphasized providing good homes, modern amenities, and improved infrastructure. Moving beyond traditional redevelopment, he expressed the need to build attractive, modern, and world-class buildings.
Along with residential projects, the cluster development will also boost the commercial sector, helping create local employment opportunities and job hubs. Cluster and redevelopment projects will be implemented across various parts of the MMR, including Thane, Mumbai, Mira-Bhayandar, Ulhasnagar, Navi Mumbai, and Kalyan-Dombivli. Various projects are also underway through SRA, MHADA, and CIDCO.
