INDIAN PEDIATRIC NETWORK ANNOUNCES ‘THE STUDENT HEALTH INITIATIVE PROJECT’ IN COLLABORATION WITH KOHINOOR INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

For Immediate Release, July 11, 2016: The Indian Pediatric Network launches its pilot project ‘The Student Health Initiative Project’ in collaboration with the Kohinoor International School. The objective of the platform is to facilitate super-specialist doctors from the Pediatric domain and endow parents to evaluate the health patterns of their children across Preliminary grade to Standard IV.
According to recent reports it is mandatory for the schools to carry out annual health check-ups for the students. With The Healthy School Project parents will now have access to specialist from various verticals like pediatric ophthalmologist, pediatric dentist, pediatric nutritionist, along with regular paediatricians. The program insists on parent attendance after prior appointment where check-up is done entirely on a digital platform in an area allocated by the school to conduct the camp. A thorough review and real-time valuation of old records are made which involves anticipatory guidance and illness specific information to children based on guidelines by American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) and Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP). The data of health summary is then mailed to the school authority.
The program is endorsed to parents on a compulsory basis. Parents are given access to review the child’s health records digitally. An app for the same can be downloaded free of cost with many features that can help a child throughout life. The health reports are also made available via mobile app. Through the program, the Indian Pediatric Network aims to target 100 schools every year. At present, the network has approached 25 schools to conduct their one-of-a-kind medical camp.
The intention behind the initiative is to help identify any shortcomings in a child’s health in a proactive manner and treat the illness at the earliest. The Network aims to bring benefits that involve increasing the health-quotient of students from a young age, offering support to students in health-related matters, uploading digital health-records for parents to view all year round and better connectivity to paediatricians in hours of need.
