BEST, NBBL and XPay.Life came together to digitise the cash counters

Mumbai, April 7, 2022 : One of the major issues in utility bill collection has always been how cash collection at the counters can be digitised as fast as possible. To kickstart this initiative at BEST, NBBL (NPCI Bharat BillPay Limited) and XPay.Life came together to digitise the cash counters.

The digitisation will take place in 3 methods, all of them using the NBBL’s Bharat Bill Pay Platform to do the transaction.

First method would be to deploy intelligent point of sales machines at select cash counters where customers can pay their bills through any mode of payment,  be it cash or UPI. The customer gets a receipt immediately and the transaction gets completed in less than 10 seconds!

In the second method, Touch Screen Kiosks will be deployed at different B.E.S.T locations so that customers can choose their own time and method of payment. The kiosk has a cash validator to weed out fake notes and ensure safety at all times specifically as it flows through the BBPS platform.

The third option is also the most innovative. Instead of getting the customer to come to the counters of B.E.S.T, the counters will now travel to the customer. The XPay.Life Mobile van that is being deployed for B.E.S.T will travel to the locations of the customers on select days of the week, enabling payment through both touch screen kiosks and Mobile PoS installed inside the van.  The B.E.S.T Mobile will be a full spectrum service provider for all the customer needs starting from Electricity bill collection to many more services soon to be added.  The biggest factor is also that all the machines inside the B.E.S.T Mobile Van are all powered by solar energy and a UPS that charges when being driven around. A truly green initiative!

Most importantly, it is not just. B.E.S.T bills that can be paid at all these locations. The customer can access any of the thousands of Utilities, like LPG booking, Mobile bill payments, insurance payments, DTH recharges and much more at these locations.
