MUMBAI, 01 June, 2017 – Leading technology company, Xiaomi announced Redmi 4A, Redmi 4 and the Mi Router 3C today in Mumbai. Additionally, the company also came up with its first Mi Home store in India on 20 May. Mi Home stores are Xiaomi’s exclusive offline retail stores that allow Mi fans to experience and purchase Xiaomi’s latest products under one roof. These stores represent Xiaomi’s “Internet+” and “new retail” approach — combining the Internet efficiency of e-commerce with the service and user experience of offline retail. The first Mi Home opened in Bengaluru at Phoenix Marketcity and was accessible to general public from 20 May 2017 onwards and witnessed a record-breaking INR 5 crore in sales revenue (USD 775,000) within 12 hours of sales on first day.
In the month of March Xiaomi introduced Redmi 4A and simultaneously also announced its second manufacturing unit in partnership with Foxconn at Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. Redmi 4A which priced at INR 5,999 is made from a single piece of seamless polycarbonate with a quad-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 425 processor and a massive 3120mAh battery. It boasts a 13MP rear camera to capture sharp and crisp photos and scenic shots, and a 5MP front facing camera with Beautify for great selfies. With the new manufacturing plant, more than 95 percent of Xiaomi’s smartphones sold in India are now manufactured in India. Xiaomi will now have a combined production capacity of one phone per second during operational hours.
To bring yet another innovation on the table, Xiaomi launched Redmi 4 smartphone and Mi Router 3C. Starting from INR 6,999, Redmi 4 is powered by a Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 435 Octa-core processor and an Adreno 505 GPU offering offers high performance gaming and multitasking. It is powered by a massive 4100mAh (typ) battery that can power through up to two days of regular usage. With a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front facing camera, Redmi 4 captures amazing pictures. Mi Router 3C is Xiaomi’s first smart router in India and is equipped with four high-performance antennas each with a dedicated PCB circuit and has a 2-transmit, 2-receive antenna design. Mi Router 3C has 64 MB of RAM and offers a wireless speed of 300mbps. It can connect up to 64 devices including 20 computing devices and 44 IoT devices and is priced at INR 1,199 only.
