~ MTDC aims to increase the domestic & foreign tourist influx in Nashik Valley ~
Mumbai, 7th February 2018: Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, (MTDC) associates with Nashik Valley Wine Cluster to promote the India Grape Harvest, Wine Festival 2018 from 9th February to 11th March 2018. The aim of this festival is to recognize the involvement of the farmers to harvest grapes of the finest quality and to produce best wine as per the international quality in the city of Nashik.
Through this festival, MTDC aims to create awareness around the “Nashik Valley” as one of the leading tourist destinations to promote wine tourism. The festival is one of the country’s largest Grape Harvest Festival to popularize Indian Raisins, Grapes, Wines, Agricultural and Industrial production. Wine Tourism is observing a growth of 25% annually. Maharashtra has 77 wineries and Nashik district has 39 wineries. The India Grape Harvest, Wine Festival 2018 will be held at 20 locations across the city of Nashik with the participation of well-known wineries. Situated a few hours away from Mumbai, tourist will find it easier to travel in Nashik and observe the wine making process.
Apart from highlighting the pride of the Wine City Nashik, the festival will have several activities comprising of workshops & seminars aimed to promote Make in Indian Campaign to educate the youth and emerging entrepreneurs which offers a podium to promote the agricultural products. Grape stomping, wine tasting, food court, farmers market, live kitchen-cooking with wine, Round trip to bird life sanctuary, kite flying, ccycling and hot air balloon tour will be conducted to attract the visitors during the festival. This festival will be a landmark and create a road map for the market promotion of all Indian tropical fruits and agro produce across the country.
