Kaizen recognition to KBL’S Coimbatore Plant for incremental improvement practices

image005Kirloskar Brothers Limited’s all-women Coimbatore facility has emerged as the winner in 10th Kaizen Incremental Improvement Competition organised by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI). The event was held at Chennai.

Kaizen is a system of continuous improvement in quality, technology, processes, company culture, productivity,safety and leadership. In today’s corporate environment, “Kaizen activity” is one of the benchmarked tools that enhance the growth of any organisation.

KBL Coimbatore team received two “Excellence Awards” for the presentation made by teams on the theme of “Process Improvements.”

 Commenting at the occasion, Dr Raj Kuumar, Plant Head – Coimbatore said: “We are honoured to receive this recognition for our continual quality improvement practices. KBL’s Coimbatore plant encourages its employees at all levels in various undertakings at the facility to participate in all our quality enhancement initiatives. Employee involvement has helped in creating a work-friendly environment and helped increase productivity at the plant. We continue to make incremental improvements in our processes to make them more efficient.”

Mahila Shakti Kaizen teams from KBL participated in this event and the jury panel comprising experts from the industries across South India selected the winning teams.  The awards were distributed by Mr. Mayuranathan, Chairman – QCFICC.

KBL Coimbatore plant started its journey of instilling the Kaizen culture in the year 2012 by forming the team called Mahila Shakti Kaizen team.

 QCFI is recognized as the institution representing The Quality Circle Movement in India and has represented the country at several international forums. The organization has successfully implemented Quality Concepts under the TQM umbrella across several industry verticals, which have experienced a phenomenal enhancement of their work processes and productivity after implementation of Quality Concept tools.

QCFI represents India in the 13 nation International Committee that has been set up for organizing International conventions on Quality Concept Circle, annually. To date, QCFI has organized three International conventions in India. In addition, chapter convention and National convention are held every year where members present case studies and technical papers are discussed by leading Quality Concept Practitioners.
