CAPINDIA 2019 exhibition racks up $100 million business orders

MUMBAI, March 28, 2019: The first CAPINDIA 2019 exhibition in Mumbai saw international buyers placing close to $100 million worth of orders for chemicals, plastics and allied products from India. The three-day exhibition and interactive sessions concluded today. In line with the PM Narendra Modi’s vision of Make in India, CAPINDIA 2019 is a platform for Indian industry to showcase its competitive products to augment the Indian exports. Over 50 countries from across the globe have attended C APINDIA 2019 Exhibition where buyers from Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Israel, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, South Africa, Tanzania, Morocco, Kenya, Uganda, Zimbabwe, Chile, Columbia, Senegal, Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan have participated.

Speaking on the occasion, Commerce Secretary, Anup Wadhawan said, “The total global imports for the products covered under the ambit of CAPINDIA are estimated at about US$ 3.3 trillion and India’s current exports are only about US$ 46.71 bn. CAPINDIA 2019 will help showcase India as a reliable and competitive sourcing hub for Chemicals, Plastics, Building &  Construction Materials, Mining & Mineral Products, Paper, Printing, Publications Stationery Products, Shellac, Forest and allied Products. This portfolio should play a significant role in Government’s ambitious target of achieving an export of USD 900 billion by 2020.”

The response that we have received has shown great potential as this is just the beginning, initiated by four Export Promotion Councils (EPCS) in garnering great opportunity for the exhibitors and the international buyers. Significant aspect of CAPINDIA 2019 is that it is aimed at tapping the immense export potential, exploiting every opportunity of buyers and sellers one-on-one meet. Apart from this, both parties gain knowledge sharing, development of beneficial partnerships and introduction to new markets. This is just a beginning a lot have been learned out of this landmark event and we are sure that the next edition of CAPINDIA 2020 will see latest technology and innovation” said by Mr. Ajay Kadakia, Chairman,Chemexcil.

CAPINDIA 2019 is concluded as the biggest meeting place for international buyers who plan to source range of basic chemicals including organic, inorganic, agrochemicals, dyes & dyestuff, Castor oil and its derivatives, polymers, masterbatches and other plastic value added, paints, printing inks, glues, pigments, varnishes, allied products, guar gum powder, tamarind kernel powder, aleutitic acid, medicinal herbs/extracts has been showcased during the event. Also packaging items, consumer items covering house ware, writing instruments, stationery items, cosmetics and toiletries, flavours and fragrances, essential oils, construction & Mineral, Shellac, Forest & Allied products etc, besides plastics processing machinery from India.Among the participants from overseas – Views from International buyers

Mr. Amput from Thailand had come for the first time to India especially for this event. He said that his company Excelacs Ltd. “Has products made from Shellac and Lac and he is here to source the raw material from India. He feels that this is and ideal event where he can meet many suppliers in one place and has already shortlisted one company “Parwati” for doing business.

Mr. Jeffrey from Kenya has come to procure building and construction material from India, he says that compared to China, India is more reliable and trustworthy. He needs to procure material for Government housing project and requires sanitaryware, tiles, marble and granites as part of his requirement.

 

Dr.Alireza Sabouri has come from Iran, he says he is very optimistic on doing business with Indian people. He has shortlisted India Oxford Labs,Aadish Impex and Trinity Group.
