New Delhi, August 2nd , 2016: University of Warwick Delhi Summer School hosted a reception and awards ceremony recently in the capital to commemorate the last day of it’s second edition summer school programme. Held in association with The British School New Delhi, the summer school offered courses in Economic and Finance which provided students with a unique insight into what it would be like to study these subjects at an undergraduate level. In addition to the academic lectures and seminars, it also included personal development sessions.
The Economics department at the University of Warwick is rated in the top three of all the major specialist subject league tables for Economics in the UK. The University of Warwick was also named ‘University of the Year 2015’ in the same prestigious rankings.
According to Vanita Uppal OBE, Director, The British School, Delhi, ‘’Summer schools offer that extra edge and include courses that prepare a student for college. Even introducing them to professional fields of study that are gaining popularity.’’
Marked by enthusiastic kids from all over India who participated in the Summer School, worth mentioning was student Amiya Jain who achieved a perfect score.
The accomplished faculty from the UK included Ms. Elizabeth Jones, University of Warwick, Economics Department, Director of Undergraduate Studies, Siobhan Benita, Chief Policy and Strategy Officer for the Department of Economics and Co-director of the Warwick Policy Lab and Mr. Abhinay Muthoo, Professor of Economics, Head of the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick who taught at the Summer School.
