Mr. Yogesh Sahu has already created one ‘SmartGaon’ as pilot

Yogesh Sahu1Mumbai 5th February 2018: While the nation is still gearing up to create smart cities, a Mumbai based entrepreneur has already taken steps to make Indian villages smarter and self-sufficient. Yogesh Sahu, CEO of M-Intellect Global Pvt Ltd calls this concept as Smart Gaon and recollects how he made a successful case study by completing his first pilot project in a small village of Uttar Pradesh.

With the proliferation of Smartphones and internet in Rural India, this is an idea whose time has come.

It all began when he found out that a massive amount of foodgrain is being wasted every year for various reasons, while at another end there is a shortage and high prices for the same. He found that no one is ready to address this anomaly due to various reasons. And being a true Indian at heart and a technocrat, Mr. Yogesh Sahu decided to leverage technology for this cause and in the process developed innovative software and an app in English and Hindi, which not only addresses this supply demand gap but also brings training, Government support, as well as knowledge education, e-marketplace to the villagers to not only fetch them better prices for their produce but also educate them and sell their handicrafts on and as well as bind them in a E-group to share knowledge and concerns or problems in a secure environment.

The technology also brings the Government schemes for their benefit to their doorstep and take advantage of subsidies, seeds, and other e-governance facilities.

Yogesh comes from a humble background and was brought up in a simple but forward-thinking family. Even today, he enjoys visiting his village and believes that if proper technological infrastructure is provided, the rural areas of India can really become smart and efficient. Mr. Sahu an engineering graduate with an experience of over 13 years, started M-Intellect a year back and is already working with some of the biggest brands in India and internationally. With a strong team of tech professional and years of experience, he consults SME’s and bigger companies in identifying a particular problem and gives an appropriate solution by developing customized apps and other tech based solutions to maximize revenues. He recently completed his most challenging project and developed an app for a company to track their pan India on-field workforce in real-time. M-Intellect has also successfully completed various projects and have helped brands to build customized apps at a very efficient cost.

The idea of Smart Gaon sparked in Sahu’s mind when he saw tons of field produce going in waste during one of his visits to a village. He spoke to another friend who shared similar passion and both started working towards building an app called Smart Gaon. They connected with the authorities and gram panchayat of their native village Taudhakpur, and proposed the idea of developing their village. Smart Gaon app went through several modification during the course of its time and is now available to download for villagers. The locals from the village can now directly sell their produce in cities, completely eliminating the middle-chain in the process. They can also now list their business and also file complains, create events and get to know about all the schemes Government provides them with.

“We truly want to improve the life of the villagers with the use of technology. There are a lot of facilities that government has made available for the development of rural areas, but the problem is that they do not reach the families completely disabling them enjoy an improved standard of living.” says Mr. Yogesh Sahu. He further adds, “There is a huge communication gap between the villagers and the government. Smart Gaon is an easy to understand app which will bring people in the villages closer to each other and make them an active part of Digital India”.
Mr Yogesh also has to his credit over 1000 challenging software applications that he has developed for various companies one of which he developed for Qualcom and Docomo. It is an app by which the fishermen in sea can see realtime information in their mobile phones like their location (so as not to venture in another country’s territory) as well as weather information, location of fish and potential fishing areas etc.

A true Indian at heart Mr. Yogesh’s SmartGaon project is a service dedicated to our country and not for profit venture, he has a vision to get entire rural India under this project and is in communication with Government to make his dream into a reality.
