The second edition of Navi Mumbai International Film Festival is back with a Bang

The Second edition of Navi Mumbai International Film Festival (NMIFF) 2015 is to be hosted at CIDCO Exhibition Center, Vashi, Navi Mumbai from 29^th – 31^st May 2015. The festival just in its second year, we have received 410 entries and the participating countries that the entries have been received from have gone upto 75. The festival was founded with the idea to showcase the talent & creativity of filmmakers from Navi Mumbai as filmmaking and inclination for creating excellence in the cinematic world was almost negligible till before the festival was founded. With the NMIFF, film-makers now have a reputable film festival that will give a global exposure to their creativity and innovative ideas while film-goers have a repository of fine movies of different taste & calibres from across the globe, to enjoy.

The festival is open to film makers from across the globe, and appreciates all genres of film making. Sharing new developments that have taken shape for this leg of the festival, Chairman & Founder of NMIFF, Sachin Khanna says, “Unlike last year, a few foreign film-makers who have submitted films will also be present during the festival days. This comprises of two filmmakers from USA, two from Russia and the Italian Cultural Center being the festival partner – a bigger number of filmmakers are expected to be coming in from Italy & Europe.” This is a competitive festival of films where the best films will be shortlisted for various categories. The winners will be selected by a panel of esteemed jury members and will be awarded with cash prizes and trophies. On the current scenario at the pre event preparations adds Mr.Khanna, “The film selection is being streamlined for the 3 member Jury who will be individually watching each and every film before the reach a common consensus on the winners.” The Jury names will be shared with the media soon.

Our goal is to discover, support, and inspire independent film makers by providing them a reputed exhibition platform without getting worried about having high budget for marketing. Through NMIFF, they get an opportunity to showcase their films, connect with filmmakers and industry professionals and to groom the careers in film production, direction, screenwriting and other various aspects of film making.
