Shiv Sena won the race of Mayor and Vishwanath Mahadeshwar will be the new mayor of BMC

The election of Vishwanath Mahadeshwar as the mayor on March 8 is almost in Sena’s pot. Shiv Sena won the race of Mayor. CM Fadnavis withdraw the BJP from the mayor race. According to the sources BJP feared the Sena would take away the support from the state government and another reason to surrender before Sena. BJP needs to contest next Assembly and Loksabha elections with Sena support.
The 56-year old Mahadeshwar is among the most educated corporators in the Sena. He is three times corporator, educationist, clean image politician and loyal to Thakarey family and Matoshree. He won from the ward no 87 Kherwadi Taluka , Bandra East. He was previously principal of Raje Sambhaji Vidyalaya and Junior College in Santacruz. Mahadeshwar said he would focus on ridding the city of potholes and encroachments, and address water shortage, if elected.
Hemangi walekar will be deputy mayor .Both of them have filed their nominations the election will be held on 8 th March
