Mumbai, February 6, 2025:  India is home to nearly one million senior living facilities, many of which lack essential amenities. This number is expected to rise to 2.5 million in the coming decade. The elderly population, comprising individuals aged 60 and above, is currently around 157 million and is anticipated to reach 347 million by 2050, further intensifying the challenges. At present, approximately 18 million senior citizens in the country are homeless.

In an effort to bridge the significant gap in elderly care, Padma Shri Dr. Mukesh Batra organized the much-anticipated Yaadon Ki Bahaar singing concert in its 13th year, to help elderly widows from The Shepherd Widows’ Home. Dr. Batra utilizes his talent to aid the elderly and encourages others as well to contribute towards the aging population with their talents. Dr Batra’s®️ Foundation, with a 30-year commitment to the health and well-being of older women, spearheads this crucial initiative, offering support through not only the concert but also free medical assistance.

Commenting on the initiative, Padma Shri Dr. Mukesh Batra, Chairman and Founder of Dr. Batra’s®️ Group of Companies said, “I strongly believe in embracing the elderly within the comfort of our homes, and the idea of adopting a grandparent is one whose time has truly arrived. I take pride in supporting numerous senior care homes across the country to enhance the lives of our older generation. Let us unite to build a society where kindness and care have no limits.”
