Mission new road campaign began in Malwani Malad by social activist Amzad Shaikh

Mr Amzad Sarmad Shaikh is a very renowned name in Social activities His NGO Samay Foundation is regularly involved to resolve the common people’s issues and also help poor and needy people. One of his recent achievements is the removal of RMC Plant from the Malwani Mhada Malad residential area which used to cause severe health issues for the residents in the area. One of the social activist Badruddin Chavan said “Mr. Amzad has done a remarkable job by solving this serious issue and saved the health and lives of the local residents.” Mr. Amzad humbly said that it is not me but a joint effort of the residents and authorities.
Mr. Amzad’s next target is the traffic issues being faced by ‘Malvanikars’. The people of Malad Malvani facing Traffic issues for a very long time and have made various complaints to the authorities but still got no solution for this. Now Amzad Shaikh had taken a keen interest in these issues and written letters to all the concerned authorities and started a signature campaign. His signature campaign is getting tremendous response from the local residents and very soon this issue will also get resolved. Mr.Shaikh further added that all the DP plans are ready but due to vote bank politics New roads works are purposely delaying. We will create pressure on government authorities to began the new road work at the earliest.   

Speaking to MTI news Mr. Shaikh stated that we have started this Mission with a signature campaign and if our residents’ traffic issues were not resolved or taken care of, the residents will do agitation, dharna and hunger strike till the issue is resolved. We demand Laggon road to be connected with Andheri Millat Nagar, Bus depot to Inorbit Mall linking road and Madh to Versova and other connecting roads.

Amzad Sarmad Shaikh was born on January 26, 1976. He is an Electrical Engineer by profession and visionary leader. He has an eminent quality to inspire and motivate people. Mr. Shaikh Started his professional career in 1998 with a Dubai based company named ETA Ascon Group. He has successfully completed 22 years in his work in different companies and was appointed as Nodal officer between Mavin Group and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for the projects of line 2A of Charkop RSS Depot and DN Nagar.
Mr Shaikh started his social career from the age of 14 years by collecting the old books and distributing them to the needy students of the area. and also conducted free coaching for the poor and needy students of the society. In 2005, he was appointed as North Mumbai President of Movement of Peace & Justice (MPJ) and work in the field of Education, Health and Social issues. In 2013, He started his NGO called SAMAY Foundation which mainly works in the field of Education and Social Upliftment of the society. He was elected as Mumbai President of Social Democratic Party of India (SDPI) and worked in Mumbai on various issues. He was elected as National Secretary of Alliance for Justice & Peace (AJP).
In 2018, Amzad Shaikh along with some qualified & social activists of Malwani Malad decided to work on a common platform to have permanent solutions for the day to day issues faced by the local residents. Therefore, they have formed and registered a NGO called Mumbai Development Foundation (MDF).
Amzad Shaikh has taken many issues such as : Protest and Agitation for dirty water supply by BMC, hence resolving the same. Survey of BMC schools stopping the mal-practice and negligence by the staff. Struggling to get better road facilities and thus launched Mission ‘New Road Campaign’.
