The Rural Development App and its operations will be powered by Machine Learning, Big Data, Blockchain & Cybersecurity Technology
SmartGaon apps and its operations will get smarter with four experienced IT specialists joining the team to build a robust model for this initiative.
Satyendra Thakur, an IITian who moved to USA in 2007, currently working in Silicon Valley, California as Technologist in leading US based MNC. He is entrepreneur, storage technology architect, block chain expert and has six patents in storage technologies. Satyendra is also social worker helping NGOs who work to promote education work for under privilege children in India. Satyendra says “I decided to join SmartGaon as I always wanted to do something which can empower and help people living in villages and I see SmartGaon as great initiative that is already making positive changes in people life living in villages and has tremendous potential.”
Piyush Bansal, an IIT Kharagpur graduate and currently working in leading online transportation network company in Silicon Valley, California as Cybersecurity Expert. Piyush says “SmartGaon is an amazing initiative to grow village into a smart village. It solves the problem at the root level and am proud to be a part of SmartGaon family. I hope that we can make a difference with this initiative. My focus would be around cyber security to provide secure and light platform for farmers.”
Parivesh, did his graduation from prestigious IIIT Hyderabad, after which he has been working on Artificial Intelligence and machine learning using underlying Big data platforms for development. He recently moved to USA to pursue the vision of employing machine learning tech using distributed systems as work horse to solve nontrivial constraints related problems. Parivesh says “SmartGoan has huge potential to change the lives of farmers by employing machine learning to maximize the returns to the farmers produce by connecting them to the right retailers and having them bid on their produce. We can also use AI systems and IoT to monitor health of the crops thereby reducing loss due to unforeseen climatic conditions in India.”
Born and brought-up close to the villages and farmers – Manas Dewangan is Master of Technology in Computer Science from IIT Guwahati, currently working in Silicon Valley, California as Core Technology Expert in leading US based MNC. Manas aims to use cutting edge technologies like BigData and Artificial Intelligence to create huge social impact. Manas says “SmartGaon is a great platform that will improve quality of life not only of farmers but also their families. SmartGaon positively aims to enhance educational, financial, and environmental aspects of their life. SmartGaon is a bridge- a social network, amongst farmers that connects them to the retailers, wherein everyone wins by helping each other and providing level playing field for the sustainable business development”
Yogesh Sahu, a young entrepreneur from Mumbai, delivering IT solutions to small & medium businesses, along with his friend Rajnish Bajpai, who is a Senior Software professional and IoT Expert working abroad, together envisaged creating a transformation in rural India, knowing that Mobile Technology & IoT (Internet of Things) are the future of growth and development. After successfully turning around a rural village called Mirzapur Urf Taudhakpur in UP into a rapidly growing SmartGaon, Sahu and Bajpai have recently laid the bricks of development in 6 more villages in Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra. Aiming to transform 10 more villages in upcoming year, more emphasis is laid on to the Gram Mart feature of the app, which supports fair trade between farmers, thereby creating a marketplace for their produce.
“It is our privilege to have young and dynamic minds adding value to our dream project with their unparalleled expertise. With this partnership, we envisage integrating Blockchain Technology and Cybersecurity solution with SmartGaonMart for supply chain that will increase the efficiency, security, transparency and positively impact everything from warehousing to delivery to payment.” says Sahu.
“We aim to use big data platforms and machine learning to scale SmartGaon backend as more and more farmers come on board. The platform will be used to generate insights on the demand and supply trends in SmartGaonMart market place as well as to maximize ROI of farmers and retailers.” adds Bajpai.
Taudhakpur which used to be a remote village with limited amenities in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh has recently made news for its transformation into a SmartGaon with not only basic amenities like toilets, CCTV Cameras, Public Address Systems, Dustbins and Street lights, but also Adarsh Primary Schools, regular health check-up events and Community health centres, a Wifi Zone in addition to 18-20 hours power Supply. The app serves as an enabler in the development as all initiatives undertaken are updated, recorded, tracked and monitored on the app, ensuring free flow of information and bringing about community wellbeing. The Mobile app has key features like the villagers’ directory, news and events calendar, health centre, information centre, Bilingual (available in English and Hindi),etc.
SmartGaon undertakes development projects for villages qualifying under the Government’s Adarsh Gram Yojna to enable these villages expedite the process of development through deployment of digitalization, thereby aiming to enhance the ‘quality of life’ of the villagers.
