Mumbai, January 26, 2024 – Department of Minority Development, Government of Maharashtra in association with Maharashtra State Urdu Sahitya Akademi, invites you to the Cultural Enrichment and Artistic melodious Program “EHSAAS”. We invite you to come today to experience this mesmerizing event. Urdu poetry program was successfully organized for last 11 years. Its new form is going to be the program ‘EHSAAS’. From this we will get to see the confluence of Shayari, Ghazal and Sufi on one platform.
Music has always been considered sacred in Indian culture. Also, music is considered as an excellent means of salvation. The show ‘Ehsaas’ is not just about presentation; So there will be a soulful melodious dialogue between the artists and the audience in this program. In the program, an endless repertoire of Urdu poetry, ghazals and Sufi music will be presented to you by renowned artists. Sufi music is characterized by spirituality, love and harmony. Sufi music has a unique combination of elements of Indian classical music, folk music and love, which is why Sufi music is always deeply rooted in the human mind. Our India is the land of Sufi saints like Amir Khusro, Baba Bulleh Shah and Saint Kabir. So the quality of Sufi music remained high with us. The biggest proof of this is the place of honour Sufi music has got in Bollywood. The program will be moderated by senior journalist Imtiaz Khalil and will be paired with actor, writer, stand-up comedian Rehman Khan and poet Priya Malik.
The uniqueness of this program is that one can feel the joy of Urdu poetry with young poets. The listeners can enjoy the poetry of 4 veterans of the world of Urdu poetry namely Wasim Barelvi, Manzar Bhopali, Sachin Pilgaonkar and Obed Azam Azmi. After that, the audience will get a chance to listen to the mesmerizing voices of renowned singers Hariharan and Harshdeep Kaur. To spice up the event, Shabab Sabri, scion of the famous Sabri Brothers, will also be on hand to entertain the audience

Performing Artist:
Wasim Barelvi: A poet, professor and international award winner, he is known for touching human emotions with his words. Barelvi is known for his precise weaving of human emotions. That is why his couplets are popular from common people to very special people.
Ashok Chakradhar: Padma Shri awardee, eminent writer, poet and director, known for his unique poetry.He has visited America, England, Soviet Union, Australia, Mauritius, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Nepal, United Arab Emirates, Germany, Italy, Palestine, Israel, Oman, Trinidad and Tobago for literary, cultural and educational programs. .
Obaid Azam Azmi: Secretary of Anjuman-e-Tarqi, author of touching poetry and contribution to the field of Urdu literature.
Sachin Pilgaonkar: A multi-talented personality – actor, director and producer, engaging the audience with his poetic quality.
Hariharan: A legend in Indian music for decades, known for his velvety voice in Bollywood hits and ghazals.
Harshdeep Kaur: Indian playback singer known for her Bollywood Hindi, Punjabi, English and Sufi songs. She is popularly known as the “Sultana of Sufis” due to her soulful singing.
Shabab Sabri: Shabab Sabri is a famous Bollywood playback singer. Shabab Sabri’s father Iqbal Sabri and uncle Afzal Sabri were Qawalli and Sufi singers from India.
Shabab Sabri started training under Rashid Khan at the age of 14. Later, Sabri studied with her father and has performed in many live shows.
