FC Goa find themselves in the top half of the table going into their fifth game of the season, having won three of the opening four games. The Gaurs have also scored a whopping 13 goals in only four games, courtesy of consecutive hat-tricks from Spaniard Ferran ‘Coro’ Corominas. Manuel Lanzarote, Manuel Arana and Mandar Rao Dessai have also contributed with goals. Delhi Dynamos FC, on the other hand, find themselves in the bottom half of the table. They started the season with an impressive win against a much fancied FC Pune City but have not been able to come away with victory in any of their subsequent matches. The Gaurs have been unstoppable in front of goal and they will look forward to carrying the same goal scoring form into the encounter at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
Skipper Laxmikant Kattimani will be looking to come back strongly against Delhi and is likely to get another chance in goal. Bruno Pinheiro is an important cog in the wheel for Sergio Lobera due to his ability to pass the ball and find team mates in good positions. Ali Mohamed has also impressed and will start alongside the Portuguese defender. Seriton Fernandes has been one of the most consistent defenders since the first game and he looks set to start at right back while Narayan Das will occupy the left back position.
The midfield pivot of Edu Bedia and Ahmed Jahouh has been working wonders for the Gaurs. Both players complement each other perfectly and have the technical ability to adapt to the type of system that Sergio has employed. As a result, they are both able to control the game and put in through balls for the likes of Coro and Lanzarote to run on to. Manuel Lanzarote has been in sublime form and is the creator-in-chief for the team. Apart from the four goals he’s scored, Lanza has also created three more for his teammates. The Goan duo of Brandon Fernandes and Mandar are most likely take up their wing duties once more ahead of Manuel Arana, Manvir Singh, Liston Colaco, Adrian Colunga and Anthony D’Souza. Coro will start up top for the Gaurs and will look to take a bigger lead in the Golden boot standings.
