Mumbai The city of Mumbai witnessed an unprecedented celebration of fitness and community spirit as over 3,000 participants gathered at the scenic Gorai Jetty for the inaugural Water Kingdom Marathon 2025 on Sunday morning. This much-anticipated event marked Mumbai’s first marathon of the year, featuring 3KM, 5KM, and 10KM race categories for participants of all ages and fitness levels. With the city still asleep, the excitement was palpable as families, seasoned athletes, and fitness enthusiasts came together to make the start of 2025 their most active yet.

The marathon quickly transformed into a vibrant festival of health and wellness. Prior to the flag-off, an energetic pre-race warm-up session, led by a DJ and Emcee, infused the crowd with energy, setting the tone for the day. The official race flag-off was conducted by Paresh Mishra, CEO of Water Kingdom, and Flight Lieutenant Anand Lamdhade, Senior Vice President of Operations at Water Kingdom, further reinforcing the event’s commitment to promoting a culture of health and fitness across Mumbai.

As participants embarked on their respective race routes, the atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm. Families, community groups, and cheering spectators added to the uplifting spirit, creating an inspiring environment for the runners. The event also offered a meaningful opportunity for participants to fulfil their New Year’s fitness resolutions, adding a layer of personal achievement to the experience.

The event was not just a race, but a powerful celebration of community, fitness, and the collective will to lead a healthier life. From the youngest participant at just 3 years old to the oldest runner at 85, the event demonstrated that fitness knows no age limit. The marathon is a precursor to a larger movement promoting a healthier, more active lifestyle in Mumbai

The winners of the Water Kingdom Marathon 2025 were recognized for their exceptional performances. In the 10KM race, Shyam Singh Yadav took first place, while Mukesh Yadav emerged as the winner in the 5KM race. Aman Raj claimed the top spot in the 3KM category, showcasing their determination and skill. All the winners of each category were celebrated on stage, with their accomplishments acknowledged through well-earned prizes, including cash awards and exciting experiences. Top finishers in the 10KM, 5KM, and 3KM categories also received entry tickets to Water Kingdom Water Park, EsselWorld Bird Park, and the Tic Tac Toe toddler play area, adding extra enjoyment to their victory. After the race, participants were treated to snacks, medals, and certificates, reflecting on their sense of pride and achievement.
