Mumbai, November 28, 2024: GreenSole Foundation, a non-profit organization committed to sustainability and community empowerment, hosted its first-ever charity event at St. Xavier’s College Auditorium in Mumbai on Nov 28. The event aimed to raise awareness about sustainable practices while addressing critical global challenges such as poverty, waste reduction, and environmental preservation.
The event brought together an impressive lineup of guests, including Mr. Sudhakar Sonawane (Former Mayor of Navi Mumbai), Mr. Shriyans Bhandari (Founder, GreenSole Foundation), Ms. Vineta Fernandes (Head of CSR, GreenSole Foundation), and Dr. Rajendra Shinde (Principal, St. Xavier’s College). Mr. Shriyans Bhandari, the founder of GreenSole Foundation, expressed gratitude for the community’s support: “Our mission at GreenSole is to transform lives by merging sustainability with compassion. Today’s event is a testament to the power of collaboration in achieving this vision. Ms. Vineta Fernandes, Head of CSR, added: “We believe that sustainability is not just about recycling—it’s about creating opportunities for people to thrive. The support we’ve received for this event reinforces our commitment to making a lasting impact.”
Dr. Rajendra Shinde, Principal of St. Xavier’s College, emphasized the importance of youth participation: “Events like this inspire young minds to lead the charge in sustainability and social change. It’s an honor for our college to host such an impactful initiative.”
Event Highlights Collection Drive: Students of St. Xavier’s College organized a drive to collect old footwear and apparel, contributing to GreenSole’s upcycling initiatives. Donation Drive: Recycled footwear, bags, and mats were distributed to children in need, providing essential resources to improve their daily lives.
