“This is a state of art technology which enables the surgeon to replace only the damaged part of the knee to absolute perfection, saving all the other normal structures of the joint, thus preventing the need of total joint replacement” said Dr Narendra Vaidya, Managing Director and Chief Joint Replacement Surgeon, Lokmanya Group of Hospitals, Pune

This technology is suitable for relatively younger patients with an active way of life pursuing sports and lifestyle activities like golfing, tennis, trekking, cycling, swimming, dynamic work-life etc. Elderly patients who have higher risk of a very major procedure also can be benefitted with this minimal access robotic technology.

Salient Features of Robotic Assisted Knee Replacement, Painless Surgery, Less Hospital Stay, Rapid Recovery, Minimal Blood Loss, Preserves Ligaments, Preserves Bones & Knee Caps.

Robotic Arm assisted knee surgery brings in almost 100% precision in prosthesis placement, which is of paramount importance in longevity (life) of the prosthesis. Also patients treated with this technology can get full movement, including sitting cross legged and squatting and have a very natural feel of the knee joint, as all the ligaments are preserved.

Dr. Narendra Vaidya, Managing Director & Chief Joint Replacement Surgeon, Lokmanya Hospitals, said “It is a proud moment for us to launch robotic assisted knee replacement in India, since we have always been concerned for patient’s mobility and their quality of Life ” he further added that, “ It will set a new benchmark in near future, and we are proud of being the initiators for this technology in India.
