Mumbai, November 2016: StudioAV by the talented designer duo Gaurav and Nitesh’s Latest collection Dhaage is now available in the city of joy – Kolkata. The brand showcased its latest collection at the Braun India Fashion Week, London.
The collection featured neutral tones of beige, ivory, black, brown and a striking emerald. The brand re-invented the decades old Parsi embroidery. A generous use of colourful threads in unique patterns caught everyone’s attention in the Excel arena. The collection was a true representation of the designers’ edgy thought process.
‘Dhaage’ the collection theme is inspired by the beautiful journey of threads into a masterpiece. The entire collection is handmade in threads with a little bit of zardosi and dapka work to add some glitter. It consists of two different stories of thread-work embroideries- the soft and subtle Parsi embroidery and the colourful splash of threads in Madhubani embroidery.
StudioAV by Nitesh Sharaff believes, “This collection would help in reviving the dying tradition of Madhubani art and would provide them a good platform and more recognition. Taking the thread-work story a notch higher by using a splash of colours on handwoven fabrics like – Benarsi, Muga silk, organza, etc and blending them with indo-western silhouettes like – dresses, jackets, capes, crop tops, cowl trousers and skirts in beautiful hues of ivory, beige, brown, green and black. The beautiful Parsi embroidery on the outfits are depicted using various life forms like- birds, flowers, trees, etc.”
