Remo D’Souza Entertainment clarifies that it has no connection with alleged Cheating case

This press note is released by M/s Remo D’Souza Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.(‘RDEPL’) only for limited purpose of clarifying queries received related to media reports in relation to alleged fraud committed in relation to Dance Group (VUnbeatable). It seems at the instance of some vested interest unfortunately a wrong and false picture is being painted as if, Mr Remo Dsouza and Mrs Lizelle D’Souzaand other Directors/ Associates of our Company -RDEPL are indulging in the acts of fraud and misappropriation.

In this connection, we would like to say that it has come to our knowledge that an FIR has been registered at instance of one Mr. Veergovindam Navrottam against the Seven persons by Mira Road Police Station which included RDEPL. Mr Remo Dsouza and Mrs Lizelle D’Souza are directors of RDEPL. The said informant appears to file a Petition before the Honourable High Court claiming that the police is not taking cognizance of the complaint lodged by him against Mr. Omprakash Chauhan and others.

We would like to state that the RDEPL and its Directors have no connection with alleged Cheating of Rs.11.96 crore. The said allegations are apparently made against Mr. Omprakash Chauhan, who was the member/co-founder of same dance group and his associates, who has also filed Writ Petition before Hon’ble High Court seeking appropriate directions against the group manager Mr Mahesh More & others for registration of offence. The said matter is sub-judice before the Hon’ble High Court.

The Vunbeatable group in the year 2018 had participated in dance reality show named “Dance Plus”. The Judge of the show was Remo D Souza. Subsequently, the VUnbeatable and RDEPL had reached an understanding whereby RDEPL had agreed to make a motion picture to tell story and journey of team and to purchase said Intellectual Property Rights. Further RDEPL also paid a signing amount of Rs. 5,11,000/- to the group which was received by Mr. Om Prakash Chauhan after obtaining NOC from team members. The said MOU was not acted upon and there was no question of any dispute being raised in this regard by lodging any complaint.

It is learnt that due to dispute which arose between group members of Vunbeatable and Mr Om Prakash Chauhan, 25 members were removed. It has been alleged that since Remo on its social media account, on the request of Rameshchand Gupta (allegedly relative of Vikas) and Mr Omprakash Chauhan, has given a statement, it caused financial loss to them.

There is no basis of the allegations of cheating or forgery against RDEPL and its Directors. Nor we are any way concerned with it. We shall be cooperating with the investigating agency and submitting whatever documents they require, during the course of investigation.

We have full belief in the investigating agency and every machinery set up for the Administration of justice. We shall co-operate in best possible way so that truth could come out. Further, the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay has directed the Investigating Agency to conduct fair and Impartial Investigation in this matter. Therefore instead of waiting for the results of fair and impartial investigation, few vested interest are trying to defame us unnecessarily.
