PUNE — 31 October 2026: Specialty paper manufacturer Pudumjee Paper Products Ltd has posted solid half-year earnings, driven by higher net sales realizations and operating efficiencies unlocked through recent renewable energy and boiler upgrades.
For the half year ended September 30, the Pune-based company reported a 6.4% year-on-year rise in turnover to ₹430 crore, compared with ₹404 crore in the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
Operating profitability outpaced top-line expansion. Earnings before interest, depreciation, taxes, and amortization (EBITDA)—including other income—rose 12.5% to ₹90 crore from ₹80 crore. EBITDA margin expanded by approximately 100 basis points to 21%, up from 20% a year earlier.
Management attributed the margin improvement to operational efficiencies stemming from capital expenditures executed in the prior year, specifically investments in an on-site solar power plant and an Atmospheric Fluidised Bed Combustion (AFBC) boiler. These energy infrastructure assets helped mitigate cost pressures across manufacturing facilities.
Operational performance remained steady despite raw material inflation:
  • Volume Growth: Paper sales tonnage increased by approximately 2% year-on-year.
  • Pricing Action: Net sales realization improved by around 4%, reflecting price adjustments enacted to offset elevated raw material costs.
Push into Sustainable Packaging & Capex
The company continues to lean into the structural industry shift toward eco-friendly packaging, focusing on biodegradable and compostable specialty papers equipped with barrier properties. These specialty substrates serve as inputs for sustainable packaging across high-growth segments, including food products, pharmaceuticals, hospital supplies, hygiene goods, and confectionery.
Looking ahead to future capacity additions, Pudumjee Paper Products confirmed that it is currently preparing an application for environmental clearance to begin construction on its planned industrial project at Mahad.
