Advocate VK Dubey Honored in Delhi for Outstanding Work in Maharashtra

New Delhi: The Bharati Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh (BSPs), a national organization representing print, electronic, and web media, held its National Conference and Awards Ceremony at the Constitution Club, New Delhi. The event focused on “Modi Vision – Developed India 2047”. The distinguished guests included His Excellency Shiv Pratap Shukla, Governor of Himachal Pradesh, the Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, General VK Singh, former Chief of Army Staff and former Minister of the Government of India, Senior Journalist Sanjay Singh, National President of BSPs, Dr. Shoolpani Singh, Senior Vice President of BSPs, Jitendra Kumar Pandey, General Secretary, and state presidents from across the country, along with hundreds of journalists. Special speaker Prof. Sudhir Singh, member of the Governing Body of Delhi University IMC, also addressed the gathering. Dr. Shoolpani Singh delivered the vote of thanks.

Advocate VK Dubey Honors General VK Singh

Representing Maharashtra, Advocate VK Dubey, President of the Maharashtra unit of BSPs, honored General VK Singh with a ceremonial shawl at the event. General VK Singh emphasized that the vision of a developed India by 2047, as proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, could not be realized without the collaboration of journalists. He shared how, from his childhood, journalists who wore simple attire like flip-flops, pajamas, and long kurtas became his role models, and he committed to always being available to resolve issues faced by journalists.

BSPs President Honors Advocate VK Dubey for His Contributions

BSPs President Sanjay Singh recognized Advocate VK Dubey’s exemplary contributions in Maharashtra and wished him a bright future. He elaborated on the foundation and objectives of the Bharati Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh. He announced that BSPs, in collaboration with the Press Club of India, would take concrete steps toward implementing a national media policy. Sanjay Singh also shared that discussions had been held with Gautam Lahiri, President of the Press Club of India, on this matter. He emphasized BSPs’ dedication to establishing a national media policy and highlighted the success of implementing the journalist safety law in Chhattisgarh, which BSPs aim to replicate nationwide.

Key Proposals Passed for the Welfare of Journalists

During the conference, various resolutions for the welfare of journalists were passed in the presence of journalists from Delhi and other states:

Journalists should receive discounted railway tickets, as they did previously.
Elderly and helpless journalists should receive government grants or monthly pensions.
Journalists should have access to loans from government banks at low interest rates to run their newspapers or YouTube channels.
Accredited journalists should be exempted from toll taxes at all toll centers, as they often travel for coverage and toll taxes can be expensive.
Journalists in need should be provided with government housing under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, similar to other citizens.
A National Journalist Fund of ₹50 crore should be established at the national level, providing a ₹1 crore grant to the families of journalists who die in accidents, murder, or during work-related incidents, along with a government job for the family.
All journalists present pledged to work towards the fulfillment of these resolutions.

Recognition of State Presidents and Other Key Members

At the end of the event, the National President Sanjay Singh, Senior Vice President Dr. Shoolpani Singh, and General Secretary Jitendra Pandey honored the state unit presidents and other members of the Bharati Shramjeevi Patrakar Sangh. Journalists from Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, and several other states, including Himanshu Rai (UP), Sagairaj (Tamil Nadu), Nand Kishore Singh (Bihar), Dr. Ajay Ojha (Jharkhand), Rakesh Meena (Rajasthan), and many others, were also recognized for their contributions.

Acknowledgement of Organizing Team

The success of the event was largely due to the tireless efforts of the organizing team, including National General Secretary Jitendra Pandey, Senior Vice President Dr. Raja Shoolpani Singh, National Organizational Secretary Sanjay Malhotra, National Secretary Bhanu Pratap Singh, Pawan Bhardwaj, Sneha Chaurasia, and the members from the Delhi unit including Nasir Khan (President), Ashutosh Mani Tripathi (Vice President), and newly appointed members like Satendra Singh and Pratyaksh Verma. These individuals worked relentlessly for over a month to ensure the event’s success.

The program concluded with Dr. Raja Shoolpani Singh delivering the vote of thanks.
