Mumbai, Maharashtra: Renowned music composer Lalit Pandit unveiled his soulful devotional song “Sai Naam Saancha” at a grand launch event in Mumbai, bringing together faith, spirituality, and melody under one roof. The event witnessed the presence of celebrated singers Shaan, Udit Narayan, Hariharan, film producer Ramesh Taurani, and several prominent personalities from the Indian film and music industry.
Dedicated to the devotion of Shirdi Sai Baba, Sai Naam Saancha is a heartfelt musical offering that blends spiritual faith with timeless melodies. The bhajan features the voices of some of India’s most celebrated singers, including Udit Narayan, Shaan, Hariharan, Javed Ali, Bela Shende, and Lalit Pandit himself, along with emerging talents Akasa, Swar Sharma, and Saanjali Khadikar.
Speaking at the launch, Lalit Pandit shared that the inspiration for the bhajan came during a recent visit to Shirdi Sai Baba Temple. He revealed that while seeking blessings for his sons’ musical journey, he felt inspired to compose a devotional song that would resonate with devotees for generations.
“I wanted to create a beautiful bhajan that would be played in Shirdi forever. My job was only to compose the music; everything else happened through Sai Baba’s blessings. People kept joining the project on their own, and today I truly feel we have created something that will remain eternal,” said Lalit Pandit.
He further explained that the song was conceived as a special offering on Guru Purnima, dedicated to both Sai Baba and the spirit of the Guru. The composer also emphasized his decision to bring together legendary playback singers alongside promising young artists, believing that such collaborations would inspire the younger generation to embrace devotion and spirituality through music.
Shaan Calls It a Memorable Experience
Singer Shaan, who has shared a long musical association with Lalit Pandit, described the project as deeply emotional and spiritually fulfilling.
“Lalit ji has created countless memorable songs throughout his career, and this bhajan is another masterpiece. It is an honour to be part of it. Although my voice wasn’t in the best condition during recording, listening to the final version gives me immense satisfaction. My mother was a devoted Sai Baba follower, so singing my first Sai bhajan with Lalit ji makes this project even more special,” Shaan said.
He also encouraged today’s youth to stay connected with spirituality.
“Taking the name of God brings peace and happiness. Music can become a beautiful medium to connect with devotion,” he added.
A Musical Collaboration Across Generations
Lalit Pandit revealed that his vision was to unite India’s finest playback singers rather than limiting the bhajan to a single voice.
“When legendary artists come together, the result becomes extraordinary. Every singer has contributed a small yet meaningful portion, making this a truly collective devotional offering. Along with icons like Udit Narayan, Shaan, Hariharan and Javed Ali, I also wanted to introduce talented young singers so that the message of Sai Baba reaches the younger generation.”
The composer expressed hope that Sai Naam Saancha would find a place in every household and bring peace, faith, and spiritual comfort to listeners across the world.
The launch ceremony concluded on a devotional note, with guests appreciating the song’s soothing melody, powerful lyrics, and the rare coming together of multiple generations of singers in a single spiritual composition.
