A civil engineer by qualification, Sharatchandra V. Rao has a wide range of experience in the field of design and Project Management Consultancy in Water and Waste Water Treatment and Utility Services like Water Supply, Drainage, Firefighting and Irrigation.

He was associated with Riyadh-based engineering consulting firm Beeah Consultants for over a decade wherein he was involved in the designing and detailing of utility services including periodic site supervision for projects including residential and commercial districts, multi-storeyed building and hotels. Mr. Rao is actively involved with IPA activities since the last 15 years and is a member of the Technical Committee which has been instrumental in bringing out several codes and publications, out of which Uniform Illustrated Plumbing Code – India, Water Efficient Products- India and Solar Code deserves special mention. Presently, he is the Chairman of the IPA Mumbai Chapter. He also has his own consultancy set-up by the name Engineering Creations Public Health Consultancy Pvt. Ltd which undertakes MEP consultancy works.
