Wadia Hospital Celebrates Independence Day By Offering Free Cardiac Screening And Surgeries For Children

~The hospital has taken this initiative to give freedom to over 100 children from cardiac ailments in association with Dr. Shrikant Shinde Foundation~

Mumbai: On the occasion of the 75th Independence Day, Wadia Hospital conducted a free 2-day cardiac screening camp for children by joining hands with Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF) and Dr. Shrikant Shinde Foundation.  The camp was inaugurated by Hon. Shri Uday Samant, Cabinet Minister.

Present on the occasion was Hon. Shri Rahul Shewale, Member Of Parliament,  Shri Sharad Ponkshe, Actor, Shri Sayaji Shinde, Actor, Shri Mangesh Chivate, OSD Of CMRF, Shri Anand Mane, Secretary, Rotary Club Of Bombay, and Dr Minnie Bodhanwala along with a team of doctors from the hospital.

Hon. Shri Uday Samant, Cabinet Minister said, “I thank everyone present on this occasion. I know how the healthcare sector works and know its importance. That is why we feel proud to work under Eknathji Shinde’s guidance. It is a great feeling to know that the one who we supported is giving a new lease of life to millions. This is an important program as we will be performing surgeries free of cost for 100 children. Hence, we support Wadia Hospital and the Nobel cause undertaken by them.”

Dr Minnie Bodhanwala, CEO Of Wadia Hospital said, “I am thankful to the CMRF fund and Dr. Shrikant Shinde Foundation for coming forward to support this initiative and collaborating with us to make it a grand success and sharing a vision to treat children with cardiac ailments at an early stage and improving the quality of life. It is always said that cardiac ailment if diagnosed early can be treated. So, with this vision, we started in 2017 and treated more than 5,000 children. The cardiac unit came up with the funds generated through Little Heart’s marathon. Next year we should conduct a little heart marathon. I am thankful to the Rotary club to provide 100 cardiac surgeries for free. I strongly believe that the partnership with the government, the CMRF, Rotary, and Dr. Shrikant Shinde Foundation will help us to achieve this. I request everyone to always support us.”

“ We will resolve all the financial issues of the hospital very soon,” assured Shri Rahul Shewale, Member Of Parliament.

The 2-day cardiac screening camp will offer free 2 D Echo screening, and consultation for children on 12 August to  13 August from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm.
