- University Living is launching social scholarships for students creating an impact on society.
- Any student, regardless of nationality, can apply for this scholarship if they apply to universities in London, Liverpool, Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester and Sheffield.
- The scholarship will cover a portion of their living expenses and will be awarded regardless of academic performance.
- The scholarships are valued at up to £5000 in London and £1000 in the other cities.
Mumbai, 6th July 2022: Grades aren’t the only factor that makes a student and University Living – a global student housing provider, stands by that statement. Building on its recently introduced Social Scholarships, University Living has introduced in-house social scholarships in six places in the UK.
The scholarships are available for students applying to universities in London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Coventry, Sheffield, and Leicester. While 5 of them are valued at £1000, the London scholarship has three categories – £1000, £1500, and £2500. The scholarships will be awarded to students from all over the world, regardless of nationality. The in-house social scholarship will cover part of students’ accommodation expenses and is valid for any accommodation booked through the University Living platform. Students simply need to fill out a form online, book their accommodation via University Living, record a video explaining the social impact they’ve created, and upload it on Instagram, tagging University Living (@uni.living).
“With the pressure mounting on students to get better grades, upskill and constantly get ahead of the curve, we, at University Living, thought it was important to stress that having social responsibility is just as important. Understanding that there are pressing social issues that need our attention would help our future generations better cope with changes to come,” stated Saurabh Arora, Founder & CEO of University Living.
“We need to talk about issues like sustainability, which was also the main theme at the NAFSA Annual Expo this year. Their commitment to a sustainable future was truly inspiring and we wanted to contribute and do our part to increase awareness with regards to the same,” he continued.

Grades will not be considered as an eligibility criterion, all that is being looked at is the level of social conscience in the student. In a first, Tejaswini Deshmukh, a student of Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust S.B Patil College of Architecture and Design, has won an exclusive scholarship worth £5000. This was a Social Scholarship meant for students applying to Nottingham Trent University, London – one of the first scholarships launched by University Living. She will be joining Nottingham Trent University in September this year to study MSC in Digital Architecture and Construction.
