25 December, Mumbai: While one has seen several Hindi films depicting the enmity between India and Pakistan through the wars fought between their respective armies, what if the same is depicted through a cricket match fought between them? ‘Battalion 609’is a film that explores this very idea.
The story of the film is about a cricket match scheduled between the Indian Army and the Pakistani Army which goes wrong leading to several other incidents. It also talks about the battle fought between the brave soldiers of Battalion 609 and the Taliban. The cast of the film consists of some supremely talented actors headed by TV superstar Shoaib Ibrahim  who plays the role of a soldier from the Indian army.
Apart from war and action, the film has a good amount of romance, drama and humour, thus making it a complete entertainer.
The trailer of the film was launched yesterday at JW Marriot, Juhu in the presence of the cast and crew of the film. The team of the film shared their experience of working on the film and why the subject of the film will touch the heart of every Indian. They also talked about the clash of the film with ‘Uri – The Surgical Strike’.
Battalion 609, directed by Brijesh Batuknath Tripathi and produced by Narindas Lalwani of N.J. Lalwani Films, releases worldwide on January 11, 2019.
