TOP RANKING FOR HAYDE HERITAGE ACADEMY IN GREEN SCHOOL PROGRAMME BY CENTRE FOR SCIENCE AND ENVIRONMENT

New Delhi , May 2016: The Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) has awarded Hayde Heritage Academy as a Green School on the top of the state rankings and 22nd in national rankings because of good environmental practices. Hayde Heritage Academy
Academy management and its students participated in the countrywide ranking of schools being judged a Green School with a resource-efficient building one that uses little water, optimizes energy efficiency, minimizes waste-generation, catches and recycles water and provides healthier space for its occupants as compared to a conventional building.

Rupamala Singh, The Principal of Hayde Heritage Academy said, “Participating in this audit was a great experience for the teachers and students. They became aware of the little things that make our earth eco friendly which under normal circumstances we tend to ignore. The students are far more aware and our school is far more eco efficient now.”

This award is given every year by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) which is a public interest research and advocacy organisation based in New Delhi.
CSE is headed by Padma Shri award winning environmentalist, Sunita Narain who has also received the World Water Prize for work on rainwater harvesting and for its policy influence in building paradigms for community based water management among many othr laurels.
