In the wake of the horrendous tragedy that struck Nepal, rendered thousands homeless and caused the loss of lives of many more, the students of Canadian International School organized a philanthropic fund raiser on campus. The students raised around Rs 1, 00, 000/- (1 lakh) amongst their friend, family, teachers and the management of the school and this was donated to the Embassy of Nepal, New Delhi.

“The students wanted to do their bit to help the families of the victims and the grievously injured people. It was at very short notice that the students planned and initiated this drive. They were totally dedicated to the cause and succeeded in collecting a substantial amount. CIS has always been active in contributing to the less fortunate way they can. We sincerely appreciate the students’ efforts in helping us reach out to them through their generous donations” said Ms Shweta Sastri, Executive Director, Canadian International School.

“As a school we applaud the Embassy’s efforts in helping those who have been affected by the enormity of this earthquake. CIS is proud to have joined forces with them to help the Nepal victims,” said Ms. Asha Samuel CAS Coordinator.
