Business turns the spotlight on merchants with its Sellers’ Summit in Mumbai


on, India’s first and largest managed marketplace organized a Sellers’ Summit for the benefit of all the merchants who retail their products through its platform. This was the first Sellers’ Summit held in Mumbai. The event witnessed the presence of Ronnie Screwvala, an Indian entrepreneur and social philanthropist. While e-commerce companies regularly conduct offers and events for their consumers, put together this Summit to felicitate its 1.3 lakh merchants across India. The Sellers’ Summit was held on 24thApril 2015 at Gold Sarovar Premier, Goregaon (West).

Close to 250 top retailers across categories of attended the event in Mumbai from all over Maharashtra and Gujarat. The list of participants included prominent names such as Sukkhi, Gitanjali and HUL etc.

Speaking on the occasion Ronnie Screwvala, said, “It gives me immense pleasure to be part of the first-ever Mumbai Sellers’ Summit by I appreciate the efforts of the ShopClues team for conceptualising the unique initiative of the Sellers’ Summit to acknowledge the contributions of merchants across the country. Speaking on the event, CEO and Co-founder, Sanjay Sethi said, “Through the Sellers’ Summit, we wish to create a culture where our merchants feel like a vital part of the family. The objective is to show them our appreciation for the significant contributions they make towards our inventory and customer service excellence. Without them playing the role of pivotal stakeholders, we wouldn’t have been able to reach our present-day success. It is also an initiative to further enhance a sense of ownership in them so that together we can all enable to scale greater heights.” He along with Ms. Radhika Aggarwal, Co founder and Chief Business Officer represented for the event.

The highlight of the Sellers’ Summit was the Merchant Awards, where retailers were felicitated for their outstanding work in various spheres, by guest of honour, Ronnie Screwvala. It also included a Q&A session with the core team of where merchants could clarify any queries they had. Kiosks from different departments were set up to facilitate detailed interaction. It was an eventful evening that started at 7 pm and lasted for four hours.
