• Sea Stallion will revolutionize offshore passenger transfer and improve the overall efficiency of ONGC.

Mumbai, April 14, 2024: SHM Shipcare, a pioneering force in India’s shipbuilding, maritime, and offshore sector and a renowned provider of life-saving services worldwide, unveiled today a ground-breaking innovation, signalling the dawn of “Wings-to-Waves” transformation within the nation’s vital oil and gas industry. The company proudly launched the first of its kind Fast Crew Boat Sea Stallion-I, a 42-meter vessel designed specifically for ONGC complying with the DGS order 20 of 2022, with seating capacity of 60 passengers and deck cargo capacity of over 3 tonnes. Boasting a sophisticated array of features including a Dynamic Positioning System (DP-1), Stabilizing Gyro, Motion-compensated Gangway, and Interceptor systems, this collaboration between SHM Shipcare and ONGC also marks a pioneering leap in maritime technology enhancing safety and operational efficiency in passenger and crew transfer.

The grand launch of Sea Stallion-I at Mumbai Port Authority, Domestic Cruise Terminal witnessed the esteemed presence Shri. O.P. Singh, Director, Technology & Field Services, ONGC; Shri. Pankaj Kumar, Director, Production, ONGC; Shri. Shyam Jagannathan (IAS), Director General of Shipping, Shri. Vijay Arora, Managing Director, Indian Register of Shipping, and Capt. Bhabatosh Chand Deputy Conservator, Mumbai Port Trust along with other leadership members from ONGC and Mumbai Port Authority. Shri. Aliasgar Hajee, Deputy Chairman of SHM Shipcare, along with SHM’s management team, was also present for the launch.

The revolutionary Sea Stallion-I vessel of SHM Shipcare Pvt Ltd will empower ONGC to enhance its transportation efficiency significantly and moreover, it addresses critical safety concerns through advanced safety features and state-of-the-art technology, ensuring unparalleled safety standards for passengers at a significantly reduced cost, saving almost 50% of the expenses per passenger while carrying 6 times more passengers than the air transport. It features two deck areas – the expansive main deck and the inviting bridge deck – the vessel presents ONGC passengers with a luxurious cruise-like experience. Amenities include a well-appointed pantry, entertainment facilities, showers, and more, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable journey for all aboard.
