Sandip Soparrkar on the red carpet at Berlin International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema 2016

Berlin: an exciting, cosmopolitan cultural hub that never ceases to attract artists from around the world. A diverse cultural scene, a critical public and an audience of film-lovers characterize the city. In the middle of it all, the Berlin International Filmmakers Festival of the World Cinema: a great cultural event and one of the most important dates for the international film industry. More than 1000 films entries, visitors from over 90 countries, including actors, producers, director, film technicians, journalists and many more. Art, glamour, parties and business are all inseparably linked with The Berlin International Film Festival of the world cinema event, it is a source of inspiration in the global film community: spray from film screening, film programmes, workshops, panel discussions, joint projects with other social and cultural actors – the forms of cooperation and the possibilities for creative interaction are countless.

Bollywood’s internationally acclaimed choreographer Sandip Soparrkar who always represents Indian Dance community at the Cannes Film festival and Nice Film festival International. Now once again made India proud by representing Indian Dance Community at Berlin International Filmmaker Festival of World Cinema 2016. At the festival he had a lecture demonstration and spoke about “How Dance And Films – Bring about The Change in Society” and like always the dynamic choreographer did the fantastic job. The evening became more colourful and lively when he matched steps with well known dancer from London Ms Melody Ashton and did full justice to the theme “Stop Acid Attack on Women” the dance that couldn’t get better.

Dressed in Deepak Shah and More Mischief designed Grey Sharvani matched with scarlet red stroll styled by Pooja Shah, Sandip walked the red carpet and also gave away the ‘Best Film’ award.

Speaking about Sandip being at the Berlin International Filmmakers Festival, Director of the festival Mr Carl Tooney said, “This is the first time Sandip came to our Berlin film festival, his session with international film makers was a memorable one and we feel honoured that he was with us at the award show to give away the best film prize too.”

Well it’s unfair not to mention that Soparrkar over the years have become a hot favourite with red carpet and specially when it comes to film festivals and taking Bollywood mixed with his style of dance and placing it on in the world map.

Sandip Soparrkar said, “I feel humbled that I get a chance to represent my country and dance community at such prestigious world film platforms. I am thankful to Mr Tooney for inviting me to be a part of the Berlin Film Festival International and I am humbled that the filmmakers liked what I presented to them at my session.”
