Raveena Tandon received the Women Achievers Award for her campaigns “Animal rights n Lokhandwala mangroves”

Young Environmentalist Programme Trust in association with Hiranandani felicitated women achievers who have chosen to forge a different path, created history and set precedents for others to follow.

Sonia Singh was awarded for professional excellence  and her outstanding contribution to social work along with Actress Raveena Tandon who received the Women Achievers Award by Young Environmentalists Trust for her campaingns for animal rights n Lokhandwala mangroves.

Receiving her award for professional excellence, Sonia Singh said, ” Women have everything to take the world in their stride. They can swim the deepest ocean and climb the highest peak.. I am humbled on this stage receiving the award alongside Raveena Tandon and Shivani Kashyap whose contributions are enormous.”

Actor and Super Model Umesh Pherwani did the honours of awarding the deserving ladies along with Punish Sharma of Rodas ecotel and Niranjan Hiranandani .The silver jubilee was being celebrated of the Hiranandani of Powai.The trust awarded singer Shibani Kashap, artist Rouble Nagi, Diver Archana Nagapalli, Jessy Radhava, Achla Sachdev, vetran Educationist Maya Sahani, Madhurima Nigam,Sheeta Meher, model Alesia Raut, celebrity chef Amrita Raj, Eco adventure presenter Kamal Sidhu ..Pearl Dias hospitality expert training underpreviged students for the ecoteks and other 30 women to share inspiring stories from each other for 300 hall packed audience.Many of whom were weeping listening to women who have risen from domestic violence..some from cancer..some who still remain single n many who live for making the world a better place.Elsie Gabriel Climate Change mentor n founder of the trust said that Women can play a powerful role in sustaining Mother Earth for our children of tomorrow.Women can uplift each other.”
