Nissan today announced the opening of registrations for the seventh season of the Nissan PlayStation® GT Academy competition in India.

Gamers with access to a Sony Entertainment Network account, a PlayStation®3 and the Gran Turismo®6 game can play online to qualify for  the national finals.

The live events will commence from June 5th in Delhi followed by Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai over the subsequent weeks.

Online participants will get a unique and exciting opportunity to put the innovative new Nissan GT-R LM NISMO car through its paces at the historic Circuit de la Sarthe, home of the Le Mans 24 Hours, before the car makes its real-life debut in the world-famous race. An in-game time trial, featuring perfect recreations of car and track, will constitute the final Gran Turismo®6 time trial for the 2015 Nissan PlayStation® GT Academy competition.

Only two weeks remain to enter the GT Academy 2015 competition via GT6 and chase the dream of racing for real. The final round of the online qualifying competition goes live on Tuesday, 2 June and runs until 16 June, just after the actual Le Mans race.

10 fastest contestants each from live and online events will go head to head at the National Finals in June. Six finalists will then move to the famed Silverstone Race Camp to compete in the GT Academy Asia, which also includes winners from Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and Japan. The winner of the GT Academy Asia will bag an opportunity to race at the Dubai 24hrs in January 2016.
