Many people in India are breaking societal grounds and fighting their personal battles of pain every day to ensure they can provide the best not only to their family, but also to the society. It is with this belief that Neurobion Forte, the Number 1 vitamin brand from Merck*, is urging India to identify and help similar inspirational stories with the return of its annual initiative #HelpingTrueHeroes.

Elaborating on #HelpingTrueHeroes, Mr. Anand Nambiar, Managing Director, Merck India, said, “True to its brand promise Neurobion Forte, India’s No.1 Vitamin Brand has been helping true heroes fight body discomforts due to lack of Vitamin Bs for over 50 years. Our 2016 #MyTrueHero campaign which reached out to over 50 million people was a humble effort to recognize individuals who make a meaningful difference to our lives every day. Continuing this commitment, this year with #HelpingTrueHeroes, we are extending this movement to some little known heroes such as Gazi; who while fulfilling the dreams of their families are also extending a helping hand to the society. I would urge everyone to support us in acknowledging and celebrating the efforts of Gazi and other real-life heroes and help spread the stories of their selfless work with the world.”

Gazi started his inspirational journey in 1977 when he became a taxi driver and started giving free driving lessons to underprivileged young boys to help them live their lives with dignity and not be forced into begging. After saving his earnings for many years and collecting donations from his taxi passengers, Gazi achieved his dream of building schools and giving free education and meals to children.

Talking about his journey, Gazi Jalaludin said, “This 40 year journey has not only been challenging but also very rewarding. My unknown taxi passengers and generous donors have helped me bring alive my dream of a world where no Gazi has to stop going to school anymore. There’s still a long way to go. Even today I struggle to give mid-day meals to the children and salaries to the teachers. Recognition and endorsement from Merck’s Neurobion Forte will help spread more awareness about this cause. I would like to thank Neurobion Forte for this honour and for supporting such stories through their #HelpingTrueHeroes initiative.”

“We thank Better India for partnering with Neurobion in recognizing, supporting and helping India’s True Heroes,” added Anand Nambiar.
