5 October 2016, Thane: The Honorable Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal interacted with the traders and addressed their concerns over GST at an event organized by the Mahavir Seva Samiti in Bhayander, Thane. Shri Meghwal, born on 20th December, 1953, into a Dalit family is a Post-Graduate in Political Science. He is a Law Graduate and has also done MBA from University of Philippines. Shri Meghwal has been Member of various Parliamentary Committees and was awarded the Best Parliamentarian Award in 2013.

After addressing the various questions and concerns of the trader community, he also met the cast and crew of the Marathi biopic ‘Bole India Jai Bhim’ based on the life and struggle of Hardas Laxmanrao Nagrale popularly known as Babu Hardas. He was an ardent follower of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and a Dalit Social Reformer. The film has received a U certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification with a running time of 2 hours and 8 minutes and is all set to release on 7th October 2016 in Maharashtra.

The commonly used greeting phrase ‘Jai Bhim’ was coined by this son of soil and lion of Vidarbha. The movie stars Shyam Bhimsaria as Dr. Ambedkar, Amol Chiwhane as Babu Hardas, Sukanya Kulkarni, Vijay Gite, Nataliya Kozhenova and Sarnath Ramteke. The movie’s story, lyrics and direction is by Subodh Nagdeve. The music is by Dinesh Arjuna; singers are Javed Ali, Ram Shankar and Bela Shende. The music of the film has been taken over by Zee Music.

The honorable minister said; “The works and the story of Babasaheb is incomplete without Babu Hardas, one of his closest associates. Babu Hardas had a small but illustrious life as he tried very hard to create social awareness and bring a change in the society for his brethren. He expired at a young age of 35 years. I really like the way Shyam has portrayed Babasaheb in the movie, he looks exactly alike. I am sure that the movie and actors will be presented with National Awards for their efforts”

The producers Jeetendra Doshi and Dhananjay Galani of Sri Gaayatri Films were elated at this and thanked the minister for all his appreciation. Jeetendra Doshi of Sri Gayaatri films said; “I loved the concept of the film right from the day the director came for a narration to us. I was always respectful of the work done by Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Babu Hardas for our country. I really did not want to miss an opportunity to showcase the same through cinema. This year also marks the 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar.” Producer and partner Dhananjay Galani said; “The movie will release on 7th October in the Dusshera week and also in the week of the Dhamma Chakra Pravartan Din – the memorial day when Babasaheb converted to Buddhism in Deekshabhoomi in Nagpur.
